Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s sudden focus on getting medications approved faster follows a lobbying push by his former senior staffers who are now working for giant drug companies.

“We owe it to Canadians to do everything we can to give them the same timely access to life-changing treatments as patients in the rest of the world,” Ford said earlier this month.
