Frontier Duty Free Association (FDFA), an industry association for Canada's land border duty free shops, registered to lobby for support for “Canadian duty free locations through grant or conditional loan.”

The registration comes on the heels of a new Statistics Canada report that found 24 per cent fewer Canadians travelled to the U.S in March 2025 compared to March 2024. The number of people crossing back into Canada from the U.S. by car alone declined even more, with a 31.4 per cent drop.
