In the first half of 2025, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) revoked the charitable status of 14 charities after auditing their finances. Of those, four had explicitly religious missions — three Christian and one Jewish.

Notably, four Vancouver-based charities had their status revoked on a single day in March following audits. That includes the Delicate Balance Foundation, a private foundation whose charity programming is described on the CRA website as “making gifts to qualified donees.” As of 2024, the charity had $22,530 in assets and hadn’t made any gifts to other charities since 2020.
