In 2013, the world’s first cryptocurrency ATM opened in a downtown Vancouver coffee shop across the street from the city’s largest courthouse. 

Today, they’re everywhere. The website CoinATMRadar estimates there are more than 3,100 such machines in Canada in corner stores, cafes, or even bars and bubble tea shops.
