Serve Robotics Inc. registered a lobbyist to “promote education and the development of regulation for low-emissions sidewalk delivery robots that endeavour to make delivery safer, more sustainable and economical.”

The company started as the robotics division of food delivery app Postmates before splitting off into its own company in 2021. Serve robots are autonomous vehicles that use AI to navigate on sidewalks. They complete thousands of deliveries daily in San Francisco and Los Angeles. In the past year, Serve has expanded its service to Miami, Dallas and Atlanta. Recently, the company signed a contract with Uber to launch thousands of new robots by the end of this year and expand its offerings to other cities in the U.S.
