Ontario’s Progressive Conservatives are well ahead of the pack when it comes to raising money through bigger donations, according to a new analysis, and the names of some lobbyists and other influential figures can be found among their large donors.

Democracy Watch, a non-profit government watchdog, combed through political donations between 2021 and 2024, and found that nearly half (48 per cent) of the people who donated to Doug Ford’s party contributed at least $1,000. That far exceeds the Liberals, at 22 per cent of donors, and the NDP at just 10 percent.
