Cohere, a Canadian AI company, registered to lobby nine government bodies, including the Prime Minister’s Office, to discuss “Canada's participation and leadership at the G7 summit and global leadership on artificial intelligence.”

The company is one of Canada’s leading AI enterprises, having received $240 million from the government in March toward its $725 million project “to bring domestic compute capacity to Canada and support the development and scaling of AI capabilities here at home.” Cohere was among the first to receive funding from the federal government’s promised $2.4 billion for AI investment in last year’s budget.
