Imani Soje is a Toronto-based storyteller and visual curator, dedicated to connecting closely with communities both locally and digitally through the creation of captivating visual and literary stories. Graduated with a bachelor of communication and media studies from Carleton University, Imani is well-versed in the world of media and technology.
Imani has worked in corporate communications and digital marketing with financial technology corporations such as RBC and IBM, driving digital presence through visual media management and building digital strategy. With over six years of volunteer and professional experience in the non-profit sector, Imani is passionate about people-focused organizations that prioritize transparency and the realities faced by underrepresented communities throughout the Greater Toronto Area, and sharing their experiences in visually captivating ways. Now working with the Investigative Journalism Foundation as a marketing intern, Imani finds great value in the IJF’s approach to radical transparency, which involves speaking truth to power in an uncertain time for journalism.
