Almost all political parties like to boast that they rely on grassroots support from large numbers of Canadians to back their policies and fund their campaigns.
But analysis from the IJF shows Canada’s two biggest parties get less than half of their financial support from small donations. And the governing Liberal Party is the least successful at this, despite its claims that it’s “100% funded by grassroots donors” on its website.
